Two of the seven Minnesotans travelling to Egypt and Palestine for the Gaza Freedom March are appearing tonight on BelAhdan with Ahmed Tharwat one of the most-watched Arab American television programs in the US.
Their appearance tonight comes one day in advance of an event in Minneapolis to raise awareness of the crisis in Gaza and both political and financial support towards the goal of the march - lifting the illegal siege of Gaza that prevents humanitarian aid from reaching the 1.5 million Palestinians trapped there. Here are YouTube clips from the show:
Tomorrow's event in Minneapolis will be at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, 511 Groveland Ave, from 4 to 7 PM. The film "Occupation 101" will be shown and a panel will discuss the crisis, the march, and what else can be done. A suggested donation of $5-10 would be greatly appreciated, but no one will be turned away.

MN to Gaza, Minnesotans support the Gaza Freedom March!
A group of Minnesotans have been organizing in support of the Gaza Freedom March, including at least five who plan to travel to Egypt and Palestine to participate in the Gandi-inspired march.
One participant is Saint Paul resident Sylvia Schwarz, who contributed an OpEd on MinnPost about human rights and the Gaza Freedom March.
You can track developments of the MN to Gaza organizing on twitter. We will also post announcements on this blog.
Our local effort is parallel to that of other regional groups, like HudsonToGaza, 12 residents of Upstate NY planning to participate in the march.
